Biggest (Pleasant) Surprises
The two films that surprised me the most this year were Pain & Gain and We're the Millers. I already talked about my love for Pain & Gain in my post from June, so I'm not going to go back into why I think it's amazing. On the other hand, I had no expectations for We're the Millers. I went to see it on a whim. I was so pleasantly surprised. I laughed so much my cheeks (face cheeks lol) hurt after the movie was over. Plus everyone in the theater was having a blast so the atmosphere made it even more fun. Kudos to Pan & Gain and We're the Millers for rocking my world in 2013!

Also, I have to say Don Jon was a pleasant surprise as well. You'd expect the movie to just be about sex, sex, & more sex, but it wasn't at all. There was a beautiful message about relationships, infatuation, and truth in the film. I'd definitely recommend it!

The others that I marked as my faves were all amazing, but that wasn't a surprise. I expected them to blow me away. And they did. The movies from the latter part of the year (The Best Man Holiday, The Hunger Games, American Hustle, Anchorman 2, The Wolf of Wall Street, Inside Llewyn Davis, Her, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty) were especially incredible. 2013 was a great year for movies. I'm excited to see what comes in 2014!

What movies did you love in 2013?

    2. Hey Pam, I love this by the way!

I thought Chris and I were movie connoisseurs, but hats off to you love!
I really enjoyed The Great Gatsby. I'm not sure if you remember, but in high school we read the book and watched the original version in class. I also loved Frozen and Monster's University. I must say, even if I didn't have Kayden, I would have watched these movies lol.
Baggage Claim was surprisingly good to me...I was thinking it would be ok, but I actually could see myself buying it lol. Overall, I enjoyed the Wolf of Wallstreet. Anything with Leonardo Dicaprio is winning, but it really was a good movie.

    3. Hey Teiraney! Yessss, I SO remember reading that for class! And I re-read it before the movie came out so I could compare the two lol. And I went to go see Frozen and Monster's University with DJ...and I went back to see Monster's University 3 times, no lie LOL!

Baggage Claim was alright to me...but Paula Patton doesn't appeal to me as a leading character. She didn't draw me in. But the movie was still enjoyable. And Wolf of Wallstreet took me THROUGH. I was sitting there with my jaw on the floor lol. Definitely not for the faint hearted!
